Holidays and family celebrations throughout the year are times when we exchange gifts as an expression of our love and affection for the special people in our lives. This year, give a gift guaranteed to make a difference!

The Salvation Army’s Gifts of Hope program offers a variety of items that make a huge and lasting difference in the lives of some of the most marginalized people in the world. Each item has been carefully chosen to complement the international work of The Salvation Army.

Gifts of Hope donations are tax deductible.

Chickens

The gift of a pair of chickens provides a family with a source of sustainable income, nutritious eggs and meat. For a family with limited opportunities and land to earn an income, chickens are an ideal gift.

Pigs are hardy animals that are easy to raise and breed. Pigs live off food scraps and grow quickly. Water and Sanitation

An overflowing gift! Clean, safe water for everyday use, such a simple gift with such a big impact, but pair it with safe waste disposal and the impact is even greater. Water wells, filtration systems, and toilets reduce the spread of disease and help families live a healthier life. The cost of a well varies from country to country. The donation of $30 is the average cost of providing one family in a rural village with clean, safe water.

Family Health

Common diseases are often fatal for young children in the developing world lacking access to affordable care. OX CART, BUSH AMBULANCE AND BICYCLE

Topography across the world is unique as are the roads in rural communities. An Ox Cart supports the well-being and livelihood of rural families allowing them to get their goods to market, while a Bush Ambulance provides emergency support, and often-times, lifesaving transportation to medical clinics for those living in remote villages. A Bicycle enables volunteers and project staff to swiftly move around the area connecting with communities and reviewing development work. Your transportation gift is an investment in the lives of people and will have lasting impact in the communities we serve.
